Slow Cooker Smothered Taco Bowls

Thank you Juli B. for introducing me to this delicious recipe! I believe the original recipe was found on Pinterest however, I don't know who the original author is. I did make a few modifications. I have made this a few times and there are never left overs. This is the ultimate comfort food. I instantly think of fall weather and fall flavored beers.

Serves 8

In a crock pot add the following:

  1. 2 pounds of lean ground beef

  2. 2 cans of chili beans

  3. 1 can of Rotel tomatoes with lime juice

  4. 1 chopped onion

  5. 1 small can of tomato sauce

  6. Lawry's Chili lime seasoning to taste

  7. Cumin to taste

  8. Chopped, tamed jalapenos

  9. Extra splash or two of lime juice

(original recipe had 1 envelope of taco seasoning and no additional seasonings. Also, no tamed jalapenos or lime based products were used)

Gently stir and cook on low for 4-5 hours. This can be served over tortilla chips, rice, fajita vegetables or lettuce. Top with your favorite taco or taco salad toppings.
