I love Christmas so much! I usually start texting my husband my food plans in October. My husband and I made a tradition of staying home Christmas Eve through the day after Christmas. We don’t go anywhere, but to the kitchen for more food.
Christmas Eve is probably my favorite. Christmas music and Christmas movies stay on rotation all day long. We bake cookies for Santa in the afternoon and then I load up the counter with some appetizers and Michael usually grabs some carry out pizza. We always have egg nog and sparkling wine. This year I plan to try making Christmas wine. We always start the evening with one of our favorite movies. Christmas Vacation, The Grinch and Home Alone are our top three. We usually watch all of them.
Here is my appetizer list for this year!
1. Salami, cheese, rosemary sea salt bread, pickles and olives (I get all of this from the deli at Market District.)
2. Margherita Pizza Dip from Half Baked Harvest (Recipe is linked and pictured above bottom left, courtesy of Half Baked Harvest)
3. Vegetables and Hummus
4. Baked Shrimp Scampi (Recipe is linked)
5. Everything Bagel and Smoked Salmon Bites
Mix one 8 oz softened block of cream cheese with everything bagel seasoning.
Smear onto a toasted crostini or Stacey’s garlic bagel chips.
Top with smoked salmon from the deli.
6. Christmas Cookies
Enjoy and let me know in the comments if you try any of these! Merry Christmas!
