Christmas Creations by Chase



Chase has always liked helping in the kitchen. We have spent many Friday nights in the kitchen making our own personal pizzas, baking cookies, making brownies and lots of other treats. He is always saying, let me do it, let me do it!


Chase loves chocolate. I would say he is the biggest sweets eater in the house. Over the weekend we went on mission to see what we could do with some melted chocolate and sprinkles. Here is what we came up with.


  • Chocolate dipped Oreos

  • Chocolate dipped pretzels

  • Peppermint bark

  • Hot chocolate bombs


We bought the following:

1 package of holiday Oreos

1 bag of white chocolate chips

1 bag of milk chocolate chips

1 bag of pretzels

1 holiday variety sprinkle container

3 candy canes crushed

Peppermint extract

1 box of Swiss Miss hot chocolate packets


We used the stove method to melt half of the chocolate chips. We dipped the Oreos and Pretzels in the chocolate and laid everything on wax paper. We dusted it with sprinkles and popped it in the fridge for about 30 minutes. It was super easy and very entertaining for Chase!


For the peppermint bark, we melted the other half of the milk chocolate chips and poured it onto wax paper. I used a rubber spatula to spread it out and then popped it in the freezer for 10 minutes. Then, we melted the other half of the white chocolate chips and added a teaspoon of peppermint extract to it. We spread that over the top of the milk chocolate and topped it with crushed candy canes. It went back in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Then we broke it into pieces.


The hot chocolate bomb was made from the remaining white chocolate. I lined 2 small half circle containers with wax paper and spread a layer of chocolate all around the inside. I let it sit in the freezer for about 3 minutes and added a second layer and froze again for about three minutes. I carefully removed the wax paper and poured a hot chocolate packet into one of the halves. I put the two halves together and covered the seam with more chocolate and put it back in the freezer for 5 minutes. Put the bomb in a coffee cup and pour hot milk over the top and stir!
